Following a Thundercats’ save by Panthro, Lion-O tries to begin a conversation with him because he makes repairs towards the Thundertank. While looking for the Thundrillium, Panthro has flashbacks of his friendship with Grune varying from meeting around the battleground and saving Claudus from attacking Lizards, rising with the ranks as officials, being delivered to recover it of Omens, and Grune’s eventual corruption and unfaithfulness to Mumm-Ra, releasing the villain from his jail time. Panthro and Grune eventually get together within the mine. Before they may have a showdown, the Driller seems to bar the Thundercats lengthy enough for Grune to flee.
